Props and Supports
Why use props & supports during your yoga practice?
If you are looking for ways to make yoga accessible, and ways to develop a relationship with your body that is compassionate and kind, then adopting the use of props and supports is going deepen your yoga practice in more ways than you know.
Incorporating the use of props, like blocks or bolsters, can help to foster a mindful connection to the present moment, help to more readily regulate the nervous system, as well as support you as you deepen your understanding of the mind-body connection developed through yoga asana practice. Using props and supports within your yoga practice can truly help to make yoga accessible to you, exactly as you are, in your present state of being on the mat.
It is important to remember to be kind to yourself, to be compassionate, and to remember even on the bad days that it is called a yoga practice and not yoga perfection for a reason. The more you cultivate a sense of openness and compassion within, the more yoga can heal and transform.
